It’s been FOREVER since I blogged. There’s been so much going on that I haven’t had a chance. I went to Cedar Point in Ohio for the weekend with my sister and Jeremy the end of July. It was pretty awesome. Jeremy is a HUGE adrenalin junkie and LOVES roller coasters. They have the 2nd tallest roller coaster, “Top Thrill Dragster.” I would recommend the park to anyone! It’s awesome! We were there 2 days and didn’t cover anywhere close to the whole thing. We got on almost all the roller coasters though, and of course the Top Thrill Dragster. The roller coaster is insane! The 1st day we were there we didn’t get on it. The wait was 3 ½ hours long and they kept having mechanical problems. Now from watching the discovery channel (they’ve had several roller coaster shows) they are usually over cautious so we didn’t think much of it. The 2nd day the wait was an hour so we were like SCORE! We were almost to the front when they had announced mechanical problems. We decided to wait since the day before they kept having them and it was up and running again usually in 20mins. So whatever the issue was got fixed. We got on it and man was it worth the wait!! Nothing will ever compare to it. Ok, now fast forward to the next day, Monday morning. We are packing up, hearing a lot of sirens going by, Jeremy went downstairs to get breakfast and comes running up yelling, The Top Thrill Dragster Crashed! We stayed only a quarter mile away from the hotel so that would explain the helicopters, fire trucks and ambulances flying by our hotel. I called my mother on the way home (which took 7 hours) and told her and asked her to goggle it. Sure enough there it was. The Top Thrill Dragster had crashed at Cedar Point. The cable had snapped and the cars ran over it on the way down, causing shards of metal to shoot out. Four people were seriously injured. Talk about scary; I was on that thing just the day before! All and all, I had a great time. In no way was it at all relaxing but I had a good time
Ok, fast-forward a week. I leave for my real vacation, only to half to split my vacation in half. The first half of the week is spent with Brandon’s family in Ocean City and the second half is spent in Wildwood with my family. Ocean City was great! I don’t get to spend much time with Brandon’s family, so I really look forward to going to the beach with them. My days in OC were spent at the beach, playing in the sand with Owen and chatting it up with Brandon’s family! Then comes Tuesday, the day I leave OC and take the Ferry over to Cape May alone! I don’t know why but I had a little panic attack about doing it all myself, I didn’t have really good directions to get to the ferry and then when I got there what if I messed something up. I have no idea why I panicked. I obviously survived it but still don’t have any clue why I freaked out. My father was waiting for me in Cape May so I could follow him back to where my family was staying. I didn’t really do much there. The beach is a hike, so I only went there one day. I took Jeremy and his friend to the boardwalk 2 nights. The first we got a wristband and rode tons of rides on all 3 piers. I told them we might not be able to cover all 3 but boy did they prove me wrong. My feet hurt so badly by the end of the night. The second time I took them they got their henna tattoos! They talked about them the whole week and knew what they wanted. They turned out great! Of course Jeremy has to pick the most intricate one and it took over an hour. I wanted to get one on my foot but I would have had to walk about on the boardwalk with my flip-flop off. I said I would come back the next day around noon when they weren’t busy. That didn’t happen though. I waken up by my mother telling me to get up and pack up my stuff. Instead of leaving that night we were leaving in the morning. Apparently there was a lot of construction going on and they were closing down certain parts of the road after a certain time and we didn’t want to get such in it. So I never got my henna tattoo. Oh but it gets better, what should have been a 3 hour ride turned into 5 hours. We still got stuck in all the construction traffic after getting lost several times!
I came home to a lot of orders. It took me a few days to catch up, but I managed to. These past few days I’ve been just running around like a mad woman between filling orders, uploading and checking in all the new stuff the UPS and Fed-Ex guys keep bringing me and ordering even more new stuff from the CHA summer show!
