First of all, I am thrilled to read this. I am going to continue praying and sending my energy. One day at a time...

I don't understand WHY doctors/nurses can't give just a shred of hope. I know that they have to be realistic, but how hard is it to say "we will do everything we can for your father/husband. We will work with your family and with him and try our best." I've had my own share of medical situations where the doctors estimate's were NOTHING near what the truth was. "First do no harm..." and I don't see how predicting a heartbreaking outcome without solid evidence doesn't do harm. Again, after having my own health issues, I get the basics of it. But whatever happened to general human connection with patients? So few doctors do that anymore. I wonder how many people pass away simply because their loved ones have given up hope based on something the doctor has said?

Linda A.

Still praying, and hoping for the best possible outcome for your family. Thank you for the update.

I'm so happy to hear you have evidence and good reason for hope. Thank you for keeping us updated. I'll keep sending healing thoughts and lifting your family up in prayer. YOU keep believing.

I can barely keep myself from crying at work while I read this. I don't know what to say other than my heart is praying with all its energy for a happy outcome for your family and this wonderful wonderful man. I am so happy that you have eachother to hold eachother up during this difficult time. I truly feel that there is so much love flowing to your husband/father that there is no WAY he can not feel it. You are in my thoughts and prayers every second.

I'm so glad that he is starting to respond. This is definitely the baby step we have all been praying for. thank you for sharing your good news. We will continue to pray for more improvement.

I believe in miracles too and am so happy to hear your news. I pray for you nightly and will continue to. Shelley

I came across your blog the other day via a link. My dad (74) fell off a ladder almost two years ago shattering his ankle, wrist, arm and hitting his head on a cement patio floor. He had numerous surgeries and amazed his surgeons when less than a year following his accident - he was playing baseball on his sr.'s league. He was touch & go for a long time and was never expected to walk or use his arm/hand again. My thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

Thank god for a positive turn--you are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Hi Katie. I'm just visiting your blog after you left a comment on my blog.... I've been reading about your dad and I just realised I was pretty much holding my breath the whole time. I'm praying that he will be ok. xx

Sarah Barber

Me and my whole family continue to pray for you and yours! I'm so happy to hear this turn of events. Don't lose hope or faith. **hugs**

I just saw your request for prayer on the shopping peas board. Glad to hear that there has been some sign of hope for your dad. Sending prayers that he will fully heal and that God will bring all of you comfort you need as you ride the recovery roller coster with him. I pray that in no time, your dad will be back to sorting buttons, wearing scrap shirts and cutting ribbon for you, but most of all that he will quickly be back sitting at the dinner table with all of you.

God is in the market for performing miracles and this one is spectactular!
Sending more prayers and hugs

So thrilled to read this update! I love how you have mentioned, Katie, that your dad always thought he was an exception to the rules because he certainly is proving that with all his heart. He is clearly a fighter, and i'm so happy to read that you and your family have been given hope.

Tammy Gray

I honestly don't know what to say. Your family has always been so good to my little family. I love you all soo much and I don't know what I would do without your family in my life. If there is anything I can do please call.

I have been following your husband's plight from the first day your daughter posted on 2 peas. I am so happy that you finally have hope. Hang on to that hope and to each other and you will get through this. Know you are in the thoughts and prayers of many.... many of whom you have never met. Please keep us posted!
